What I am trying to convey in this blog post in something I’m passionate about, but I am not amazing with words, so bare with me!
This is not your typical contest…
This giveaway was born of a passion to make a difference in the world. A world that as of late has disappointed, has broken our hearts, has taken precious children away in violent school shootings. A world that left me asking, “Where is all the good in the world?”
As I sat on our sofa watching the news of the horrible tragedy in Connecticut, bawling, and seriously contemplating never letting my children leave the house again, my husband said something to me that sparked a cord. He said something to the effect that if I stopped believing there was still good in the world, and lived in fear, that “they” (The shooter in that case, or the “bad guys”, the evil doers) were winning. I decided right then that simply wouldn’t do! “The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing” –Edmond Burke
Lots of you reading this will probably be parents like me, concerned about the state of our world we are raising our children in!! Some may think that this one little act will accomplish nothing, and maybe it won’t, but then again, maybe it will!! In the words of Edward Everett Hale, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do”
I like to run a giveaway a few times a year, but this one is a little different…share
The only requirement to enter this contest is to perform a good deed. And then come back to my blog and post a comment sharing what you did (If it is something more personal or you don’t want to share with everyone you can message it to me).  So that’s it! Simple huh? A little cheesy, maybe? But hey, I’m a mommy, I tear up at disney movies and commercials 
I know it seems like an unconventional contest, but it is something God laid on my heart and I believe that God is so much bigger than the evil in this world! I do still believe that there is so much good in the world! This contest is very broad, you can use it as a platform to do whatever you like, whatever your passionate about!
Be creative!!! Do something you love, something your passionate about: That will surely leave the biggest impact! Stretch yourself to see the world differently, to step into someone else’s shoes, to help someone you may have otherwise never even noticed. Talk to someone who’s hurting or self secluded, maybe in doing so you will unknowingly prevent another shooting, another suicide, or maybe that person will turn into a friend so kind and loving that you yourself are the one blessed! Go down to the food bank and drop of some quality food (not just whats been siting in your cupboard forever) Volunteer at the homeless shelter, the homeless kitchen, or Sunday school. Give twenty dollars to the homeless man/woman on the corner and don’t be suspicious of how they might spend it. Just give with complete selflessness. And believe that your act of kindness will multiple itself in this world! “Whatever you did for the least of these, my Brethren, you did for me.” -Matthew 25:40
